As a risk control consultant for McGriff Insurance Services, Inc., Jim Skelton has extensive experience analyzing fire protection hazards and sprinkler systems and formulating recommendations related to both property and casualty exposures. He is proficient in application of OSHA, NFPA and DOT standards. These activities include development and implementation of Return to Work programs, and Drug and Alcohol abatement programs, as well as general safety guidelines to help clients reduce the cost of insurance-related activities.
Jim works closely with a range of clients including food processors, textile companies, construction/contractors, plastics/metal manufacturers, transportation companies, universities, restaurants, shopping centers and property management companies.
A Certified Fire Protection Specialist, he has a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from Illinois State University. Jim also holds designations as an Associate in Risk Management, Associate in Loss Control Management and a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter from the Insurance Institute of America. He is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the American Society of Fire Protection Engineers as well as a Certified Safety Consultant in the state of New York.
