After spending over 15 years as a traditional insurance broker, Phillip noticed a glaring problem: Small businesses weren't getting the coverage they needed because of systemic challenges within the insurance industry.  Considering that there are over 30 million small businesses in the US, he saw an opportunity to support the "backbone of the US economy" while helping brokers turn their typical loss leaders into main revenue drivers.  And so, Layr was born.
